About the Rules Engine Performance Analyst role:

As our
Rules Engine Performance Analyst you will be responsible for investigating the effectiveness of our rules engine (claim and invoice decision engine) through quantitative and qualitative analysis of management and claims information.

This is to ensure and optimise financial performance of the c. £300m per annum claims fund and supporting business processes in line with the Plans Terms and Conditions.


Your responsibilities as our Rules Engine Performance Analyst will include:

  • Audit and review the performance of new and existing rules (claim and invoice assessments) using management and claims information
  • Identifying trends and/or areas of concern and carrying out root cause analysis including making recommendations for improvements
  • Reviewing user behaviour at profile level to ensure that rule overrides and data input is of a high standard to ensure the Claims Fund is protected, making recommendations where this is not the case, to appropriate stakeholders
  • Completion of detailed audit reports and highlevel summaries to be distributed to key stakeholders within the audit schedule deadline
  • Developing business cases for new rules requested by the department
  • Job holder will work in close conjunction with other department team members and key functions particularly IT, Service Operations and Clinical Risk to ensure that the quality of the rule sets and their respective performance is continually optimised
  • Contributing, to the monthly Rules Engine forum pack obtaining relevant management information and auditing it for any trending issues
  • Take full responsibility for regularly updating own knowledge of FCA regulations, company products, processes and procedures in order to provide the best, accurate customer information at all times

What we're looking for in our Rules Engine Performance Analyst:

Essential

  • Advanced knowledge of PMI claim and invoicing processes and respective claims system
  • Intermediate experience in use of Microsoft Office tools in particular Powerpoint, Word and Excel
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication, coaching and feedback skills
  • Degree level or equivalent with 25 years work experience
  • Successful role holder needs to have the following key attributes: Flexibility; Selfmotivation; Willingness to take ownership; Ability to work effectively as part of a team; Positive "cando" attitude and live the Vitality values; Ability to prioritiseworkload and deliver to deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience of executing audits and completing root cause analysis
  • Experience of working with a rules engine (decision engine) or dedicated rule sets would be advantageous
