This is a fantastic opportunity to join a top 100 law firm based in Wakefield. We are looking to hire a Legal Advisor to join our clients team you will be joining an Investor's in People Platinum accredited organisation, which demonstrates our commitment to high performance through great people and a strong company culture that focuses on trust, respect, openness and inclusion.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a caseload of Fast Track technical personal Injury claims
  • Ability to deal with cases of complexity and causation arguments, and technical challenges with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to advise other teams where technical expertise required.
  • Assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports and researching and obtaining relevant case law.
  • Negotiate with third parties to ensure we receive the best settlement figures for our customers in a proactive and timely manner.
  • You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer care to our customers.
  • Drafting schedules of special damages and assessing suitable awards for compensation for pain, suffering and loss of amenity, and other general damages.
  • Drafting Court proceedings.
  • Securing early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation to support customer recovery.
  • Ability to work with a task based case management system.
  • Raising awareness of the team and developing your profile.
  • Perform to a high level in a target orientated client focussed environment.

Person Specification

  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer care for each of our customers according to their needs and circumstances
  • Excellent communication skills to include negotiation and objection handling.
  • Accountable for achieving objectives in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining high standards of work quality, client care and professional standards
  • Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
