Kalendit is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistants to join the flexible team of different nurseries throughout the United Kingdom.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and service for our children.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals following established recipes and portion sizes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
- Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, ensuring proper rotation and storage techniques.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely food preparation.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and notifying the Kitchen Manager of any shortages or replenishment needs.
- Support the overall kitchen operations as required, including assisting with food plating, garnishing, and presentation.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, hygiene, and safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, handling multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with the kitchen staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
