An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SENCO to join our wonderful team in our Training & Enterprise Centre for people aged 16+ who face varying special educational needs. We are looking for someone who will work closely with the Centre Management Team, Tutors, learners and professionals to develop and initiate strategies to aid in learners progress.
Main Duties:
- Ensuring that Landau policies and procedures are in line with the latest governmental SEN policies and regulations
- Ensuring that the centre is equipped with adequate equipment and facilities for special educational needs, including wheelchair accessibility and audiovisual learning aids
- Preparing and leading SEN training for Teachers and Teaching Assistants as well as giving regular advice and guidance
- Assessing the specific educational needs of learners with learning disabilities and providing recommendations for their support
- Producing regular reports and updates on the educational progress of children to Senior Teachers and parents
- Providing referrals for learners to receive support outside of school hours, from Therapists, Medical Specialists, Speech & Language etc
- Work with classroom teachers, the Centre leadership team, parents and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor individual support/learning plans
- Oversee the EHCP review process for all learners in your cohort with support from Tutors and HLTAS
- Support teachers to develop and implement effective teaching and behaviour management approaches in the classroom
- Develop and maintain systems for keeping pupil records, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
- Keep up to date with national and local policies related to SEN and cascade information to colleagues
- To oversee the safeguarding of a cohort of learners as a designated safeguarding officer.
- To provide Tutor cover when required.
- Attend regular mandatory training as and required.

£28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
