The role:


An opportunity has arisen for a full time Legal Cashier, covering all aspects of client and office accounting cashiering duties.


As the Legal Cashier Executive your key responsibilities would be:

  • Accurately processing all receipts and payments across the firm's accounts, in accordance with the firm policy and SRA Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations work
  • Processing both client account and office account payments using the firms online banking facilities.
  • Posting client and office account receipts and payments to the firm financial system, in accordance with firm policy and assisting to resolve any queries arising.
  • Assisting with the process of inputting disbursements incurred on behalf of client work through the firms purchase ledger system.
  • Assisting with the payment of disbursements, including ensuring these are paid when required under the SRA Solicitors Account Rules
  • Assisting with the processing of business supplier invoices through the firms purchase ledger system
  • Assisting with payments to creditors either by BACS or cheque in accordance with agreed payment terms.
  • Assisting with the reconciliations of statement from suppliers and resolving all queries arising
  • Assisting with the processing of staff expense claims through the firms purchase ledger system and organising reimbursement payments
  • Assisting with maintaining supplier records in the finance system, to ensure all postings ad payments are accurately recorded and paid correctly.
  • Assisting with other day to day cashiering duties, including Solicitors Accounts Rules compliance, as and when required.
  • Minimum 2 years cashiering/purchasing ledger experience within a law firm
  • Understanding VAT regulations
  • Accurate attention to detail
  • Proactive in resolving queries
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Knowledge of using online business
