Job Purpose:


Supporting an effective editorial process


Working closely with academic writers and production staff, you will have an important role to play in ensuring that files are supplied on time and to specification.

From being involved in project management to carrying out critical editorial checks, you will use your strong communication skills to work closely with stakeholders throughout the process.


What you'll be doing

  • Project managing products from origination through to final output
  • Working to agreed schedules throughout the publishing process
  • Editing multiple products to schedule and to the quality expected
  • Liaising with key stakeholders, such as internal/freelance authors, proofreaders, examiners and clients
  • Coordinating the typesetting process in an effective and timely manner
  • Working across MS Word and BPP's content management system (CMS), amongst other tools, to ensure final products have undergone quality editorial checks, proof checks and preflight checks
  • Collaborating with the Head of Programmes on specific publishing projects, focussing particularly on schedule drafting, liaising with clients and other key stakeholders, setting editorial standards, advising on publishing best practice and ensuring the project as a whole is delivered to schedule and to the quality expected
  • Supporting ongoing improvement of BPP's CMS[CM1] by reporting bugs, taking part in user acceptance testing of fixes and, where relevant, writing user stories for new developments
