The job:


As our new Sr Instrument Sales Representative you wil be a key member of our Genetic Testing Solutions, Clinical sales team in the UK.

You will be focused on driving sales for real-time PCR and Capillary Electrophoresis instruments, kits and consumables into Clinical/Diagnostics environments, as well as new product releases.

You will use your knowledge of the business and external market to build meaningful relationships with our customers and achieve sales.


What will you do?

  • Achieve the agreed sales target for our RT-PCR & CE portfolio of products
  • Increase the install base of instrumentation within the sales territory, plus consumable business
  • Work together with local sales colleagues, market development and manager to ensure all possible actions are done to secure business
  • Build up reference sites as required
  • Set up and undertake complex deals. Review effectiveness of strategy on a continual basis. Benchmark own sales techniques against standard processes. Coach sales colleagues and ensure transfer of knowledge, experience, and best sales practice
  • Sales Forecasting
  • Anticipate pipeline changes and put plans in place to address shortfalls
  • See trends and coordinate sales activities with the sales manager accordingly

Who we are looking for:


  • Academic degree (BSc, MSc) or equivalent work experience in a Life Science
  • Proven knowledge of Sequencing and Real-Time PCR technologies
  • Several years' life science sales experience, or relevant commercial/customer facing experience in an adjacent role such as Field Application Specialist or Field Service Engineer working with life science instrumentation
  • Knowledge of the clinical customer and marketplace
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills
  • Ability to establish short & longterm business objectives
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid driving licence
