Job descriptionMain Purpose of Role
To provide specialist support to SOC Task Force investigations involving serious organised criminality. This will include obtaining and interpreting sensitive communications data from various sources.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Experience of conducting reactive and proactive investigations into criminality, displaying a sound awareness of information and evidence gathering techniques.
- Experience of working with other law enforcement agencies and having a positive approach to partnerships.
- Have a working knowledge of National Intelligence Model (NIM) and an understanding of the value of intelligence in focusing operational activity.
- Understanding legislation and procedures associated with investigations of SOC, including but not limited to the Regulations of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) 2000, Investigatory Powers Act (IPA) 2016, Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) 1984, Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act (CPIA) 1996 and the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) 200
- Experience in identifying and handling intelligence securely from a range of sources and using this to help progress investigations.
- Experience of producing and handling evidential material for use in criminal prosecutions.
- Experience of managing demanding workloads and competing demands for service.
- Have experience and knowledge working with problem and target intelligence profiles.
- Demonstrate experience of using computerised case management systems.
