_ An __exciting opportunity has arisen with our Supported Employment service as an Internship Works Project Navigator._**The Supported Employment service began supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism on their journey to securing paid employment. The service is now to include the Internship Works Project Navigator post.


The Internship Works Project aims to increase the number of young people with Education Health and Care Plans accessing the borough's Supported Internship provision and providers.


Rotherham is on an exciting journey to transform its Adult Social Care service to ensure every adult is supported to maximise their independence and be safe, healthy and well.

About our Team


The Rotherham Supported Employment service works with our Adult Social Care colleagues and partner organisations across the borough to help deliver meaningful, sustained, employment opportunities for neurodiverse residents.


The team are passionate about helping residents in achieving advancement in their journey into employment and helping to create new opportunities with local employers.

The small team is made up of individuals with academic and lived experience of autism and learning disabilities. The team work closely alongside other employment services at RMBC.


About You


You will support the Internship Works project to achieve the aim of increasing the number of Supported Interns in the borough.


As the navigator you will be expected to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to identify suitable interns for the next academic year.


You will be expected to work closely with our partners and providers on the project to help young people, families and carers to overcome any barriers to accessing internships.


You will act as a connecter between potential interns and providers to ensure that the young person and their families are fully informed of the choice of provision available and most suitable to their needs.

You would be attending events to promote Supported Internships throughout the borough including visits to schools and colleges.


At points throughout the year, you will conduct business development activity to develop new internship opportunities both internally with RMBC and externally with local employers.


You would present an update of the work on the project to the Rotherham SEND Employment Forum on a bi-monthly basis.


The role will report to and work closely with the Supported Employment Team Leader and will support the objectives of the Internship Works Action Plan.
