Our growing, busy practice is looking for two people to join our small, fun and friendly team in full-time roles.
- We need an experienced
Bookkeeper with a high degree of ability in cloud based accounting solutions including Quickbooks, Xero and Sage, who also has some background in payroll processing. We use various techniques to process documents so this isn't a dataentry role, although some will be required. - We are also looking for an experienced
Payroll professional who can take ownership of simple and complex clients using Sage 50, but who also has a sound background in bookkeeping to support some clients.
We have a wide range of clients of all different sizes and industries; these positions will provide plenty of variety, encompassing bookkeeping, payroll, VAT work, assisting with the preparation of management accounts, helping our accountants prepare accounts, etc - as well as supporting clients as they transition to MTD.
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
For the Bookkeeping Role
Recent and relevant bookkeeping experience including preparing and submitting VAT returns, reconciling control accounts, preferably within an accountancy or bookkeeping practice.
For the Payroll Role
Recent and relevant payroll experience including processing weekly and monthly payroll, administering auto enrolment pension schemes, processing contributions and responding to clients' enquiries in a timely fashion, plus sufficient recent bookkeeping experience to support simple client requirements.
For Both:
- Be AAT qualified/newly qualified, ACCA or ACA/Qualified by Experience
- Be able to confidently and expertly use cloudbased accounting solutions, e.g., QuickBooks/Sage/ Xero, experience with IRIS and Digita helpful.
- Be keen and confident to suggest software and process improvements across the firm and assist with future MTD projects.
- Be hands on, diligent, selfmotivated and be able to demonstrate excellent client interpersonal skills
- Be well organised and able to work on a variety of projects at the same time to fixed deadlines.
- Be highly proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook
- As the roles may need you to travel to clients' premises holding a current driving licence and having your own transport would be advantageous but not essential.
