WHAT TO EXPECT

Global Finance Services seek to optimise process efficiency by providing standardised and automated solutions across Financial Reporting and Data, Finance Operations and Payroll.

Finance Operations aim to provide world class end to end solutions for Order to Cash, Source to Pay and Customs Process.

The purpose of the Customs Process Team Leader role is to lead the drive for process efficiency and continuous improvement across all end to end customs processes.

This will ensure JLR achieves its high level customs process goals:

- efficient cross border imports and exports to secure JLRs production, aftermarket and vehicle export requirements, and
- timely, accurate declarations to tax and customs authorities.

Objectives of the role include:

Managing a UK based team (3 FTE) dedicated to service delivery and process improvement
Assessing potential automated solutions and leading implementation of agreed solutions to drive operational efficiency
Ensuring the appropriate level of training on end to end customs process for UK and Indian teams
Support the UK and Indian customs teams with automation issues
Ensuring delivery of world class KPI's and service levels
Regular communication with external logistics providers, customs brokers and internal JLR stakeholders
Maintaining and develop strong stakeholder relationships across many JLR functions
Supply Chain, Freight, Aftermarket, Purchasing, Tax, Intelligent Automation
Ongoing process improvement for Customs Import and Export processes to ensure accurate declarations to HMRC (c125,000 declarations/year)
Proactively identifying and transitioning transactional activity into GFS
Take a leading role for customs process on strategic projects e.g. SAP S/4HANA, direct sales

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Strong people management and people development skills
A track record of managing cross functional stakeholders
Interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop and nurture relationships
Operational process experience supported by advanced communication skills used to translate financial issues for operational teams
Ability to prioritise work accurately at speed and under pressure balancing delivery of BAU work with process development
Strong analytical background, project management and delivery skills
Ability to determine service requirements and performance measures, initiating solutions
Ability to see the bigger picture and challenge the status quo
Continuous improvement and growth mind set with the ability to identify and implement robust solutions and enhancements
