Permanent position, 36.5 hours per week.


You will take a leading role in the planning, preparation and running of the University's Degree Congregation and Enrolment events.

You will provide support to the Enrolment and Degree Ceremony Manager and supervise a team of 2 clerical staff and temporary staff when necessary.

You will help to develop a programme of continuous improvement with regard to these events and oversee changes to the procedures and processes used.

You will liaise with key stakeholders to ensure that a first class service is delivered to students.

Based within Student Administrative Services, you will need to have experience in supporting projects and events, helping to bring together staff and services from across the University to deliver a joined up service to students and stakeholders.

You will be comfortable in supporting the planning and reviewing of large events with the intention of continuously developing and improving the planned events.

You will have a good understanding of, and be driven by, a customer focus while possessing the ability to deal with staff and students in a sensitive and professional manner.

JOB PURPOSE


The post holder will be a key member of the Awards and Ceremonies/Enrolment Team and will support the Enrolment and Degree Ceremony Manager in organising and managing the successful delivery of the University's centrally organised enrolment events and degree congregations.

They will also support in undertaking regular reviews of the process for delivery of enrolment events and degree congregations under the auspices of the University's continuous improvement initiative, engaging with key stakeholders to plan future delivery and resourcing options.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide detailed information and assistance to internal contacts with regard to centrally organised enrolment events and degree congregations.
  • To contribute to projects with regard to enrolment events and degree congregations.
  • To prepare documentation for use by internal contacts with regard to degree congregations and enrolment events and processes.
  • To maintain information and processes on SITS with regard to degree congregations and enrolment events.
  • To provide support and guidance to departments with regard to enrolment events and degree congregation.
  • Input into the coordination and overseeing processes with regard to enrolment events and degree congregation.
  • Will have a supervisory role with regard to clerical and temporary staff involved in preparing and running the enrolment events, processes and degree congregations. This will involve some planning and organisation of activities and may include some responsibility for performance of staff.
  • To provide advice about functional issues with regard to degree congregations and enrolment events.
  • Development implementation and operation of services within the department with regard to enrolment events and degree congregations.
  • Assist in implementing wider strategies with regard to enrolment events and degree congregations.
  • Coordinate and manage delivery of enrolment events and degree congregations.
  • Liaison with external contacts to support enrolment events and degree congregations.
  • Assist in strategy development for degree congregations and enrolment.
  • Assist in the management of enrolment events and degree congregations.
  • Support projects with regard to degree congregation and enrolment events.
  • Train and supervise staff and oversee procedures.
  • Support users and provide advice and guidance. To consistently promote the University's continuous improvement principles and embed these principles in ways of working.
