Goodman Masson have partnered with one of the world's leading independent audit, tax and advisory firms. They are looking for a Financial Accountant for an initial 5-month contract paying around £400-£450 per day [Umbrella].


The business are looking to speak with a
Law Financial Accountant with experience of accounting for law firms is required to join the market-leading insurer and legal services provider.

Key responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of accounting for the Law firm.

This will include managing a fast and well-controlled month-end ledger close process, including the preparation / review of journals and reconciliations as well as insightfulManagement Information.

The role will also review accounting policies and assumptions for Law firm and present options and recommendations to senior stakeholders as appropriate.

The role also provides high-quality support and advice to the broader businessin respect of law accounting matters.

  • Planning and execution of a fast and wellcontrolled accounts close process for Law firm, enabling robust and timely reporting to key internal & external stakeholders; This will require coordination with colleagues both within and outside of the FinanceDepartment.
  • Posting / reviewing accounting entries requiring expertise and professional judgement. Performing / reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, analysis & other financial control activities.
  • Reviewing accounting policies for Law firm (including, for example, WIP, disbursements and provisioning) and resenting options and recommendations in respect of these to the Head of Financial Accounting & Control and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Providing support for regular and adhoc accounting activities for other group companies. This may include management of the monthly ledger close process for all Group entities.

Experience/Skills Required:


  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA Equivalent)
  • 45 years PQE
  • Experience of law firm accounting
  • Experience of monthend close culture of strict deadlines, tight financial controls and taking responsibility for quality of work produced
  • Experience of problem resolution and process improvement/development tasks
