Milk Education is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic level 3 Teaching Assistant who has experience working within both a mainstream classroom and with pupils who have SEND, complex learning and physical difficulties.

You will be required tosupport all children in the class as either general class support or on a 1:1 basis.

You must have experience working within a school or Child Care setting. We offer part time and full time roles as long as long term and short term work.

What you need to apply:

Previous experience working with children, or young adults, with ASD and complex needs (Voluntary welcome)
Confidence in dealing with pupils with different abilities and SEND requirements
Good interpersonal and communicational skills
Level 2 qualification in Child Care or Teaching Assistant to be considered for the role
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to complete this)
Enthusiastic attitude towards inspiring children

We are looking for Support Assistants who are:

Passionate about enabling the child to fulfil their potential
Able to contribute to, and work as part of a team
Creative in approach to children's learning
Confident in implementing support techniques, such as PEC's & Makaton
Enthusiastic towards inspiring children
Dedicated and caring
Able to demonstrate high expectations which are communicated to the child
Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to raise selfesteem
Compassionate and positive with a flexible approach when supporting the child

Extra 1:1 support may include

Medical Health Care Plans
Handwriting /fine motor/keyboard skills training
Familiarity with assistive technology (wheelchair)
Access to teaching assistant support
A willingness to support with personal care, although this may not be required
First Aid Training within the last two years is essential, although Epilepsy training would be beneficial
