    Headquarters 160th (Welsh) Brigade connects the Army to Wales and explains Wales to the Army. It provides the firm base that allows military units in Wales to meet their roles and provide a quality lived experience to the service people.
    This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

    Job Description
    The Engagement team is looking to recruit a forward-thinking and organised individual with good interpersonal and communication skills. They will assist the Senior Military Personnel & Civilian Authority Liaison Officer with event management and provide administrative assistance to the wider team. You will also represent The Brigade at Local Authority and Covenant Panel Meetings when the Senior Officer is unavailable.
    As a member of Engagement Branch, you will work with serving members of the Armed Forces and will support delivery of engagement events. You will travel to various locations throughout Wales and the wider UK, which will involve the occasional overnight stay as well as some occasional evening and weekend work. Additional time will be reimbursed as Time off in Lieu (TOIL). Your department runs the list of key contacts with whom the headquarters needs to engage. We lead on all Official Hospitality delivered by the Engagement team.
    The Brigade Engagement team consists of both Civilian and Military personnel and this position offers an exciting opportunity to work within an evolving department, situated in a lively Brigade Headquarters.

    Responsibilities
    • Event management support to key engagement events, to include the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, x6 Annual Royal Gun Salutes, Armed Forces Day and Army Engagement Events.
    • Lead Engagement team Official Hospitality to include maintenance of Guest list; collaborating closely with our Commercial partner, Calder Conferences Ltd for Venue and Event bookings; catering requirements, submission of nominal role and authority requests for parliamentarians to attend Engagement events.
    • Electronic Procurement Card (ePC) holder responsible for making payments on behalf of the team and the relevant auditable paperwork.
    • Maintain the formal guest list and update accordingly.
    • Submit Public Military Event security clearances for Engagement events.
    • Attend meetings in the absence of the Senior Officer i.e., Regional Covenant Partnerships meeting, Local Authority Meeting, Brigade Fusion meetings and back-brief Chain of Command regarding agenda and outcomes.
    • Attend Civil Engagement meetings as required.
    Person Specification
    The successful applicant will be efficient, comfortable in a fast-paced environment and proficient in delivering outputs through detailed planning and communication with key collaborators. Prioritising the needs of our civilian collaborators, by working as part of a strong team providing support to the Senior Officer, Engagement team and wider Brigade Headquarters is key.
    You will plan and deliver engagement events of the highest quality. You will also support others delivering engagement and ceremonial events, particularly with the delivery of Official Hospitality you will lead with Guest Lists and liaise with suppliers to ensure catering is secured.

    Essential Requirements
    • Administrative experience.
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient in all Office 365 applications.
    Desirable Requirements
