Goose & Berry are an award winning Catering & Events company who specialise in weddings, corporate and social events around the Bucks/Berks area and beyond.

As the team is growing, we are offering a rare exciting and rewarding role in the events industry for an Operations Assistant.


The ideal Operations Assistant will have experience leading events in a similar environment and be energetic, driven and a team player who is a natural problem solver.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of all events from initial enquiry through to delivery. Meeting the objectives and requirements of the client.
  • Working closely with all departments of the business and reporting to the Operations Manager.
  • Holding daily briefings with all departments to ensure all the events are correct. Noting any changes and amending any follow up actions accordingly.
  • Accompany the sales team on sitevisits and tastings to ascertain the logistics of an event and advise sales staff and the client of the implications or alternatives that may be available to ensure a successful event.
  • Ensure all resources and consumables are ordered, received, available, and assigned, as appropriate for each event in a timely manner and within agreed budgets.
  • Assist in the managing of team rotas.
  • Assist the sales team with lead generation to help grow the business.
  • Recruitment, training, and management of staff including agency staff. Always monitoring the use of casual staff to ensure labour costs remain within budget.
  • Attending all events, being involved in the opening or closing down of the event. Meeting venue standards of cleanliness, hygiene, health and safety.
  • Record keeping of event costings, checking events are kept within budget. Constantly monitoring event overheads.
  • Souring equipment for events and liaising with suppliers.
  • Assisting the Operations manager in the recruitment, training and integration of new staff.
  • Working at events both front and back of house, demonstrating a strong knowledge of food & drink and hospitality.
  • To lead and motivate a team and delegate responsibility whilst being handson.
  • Be creative with your suggestions to enhance the event's success and upsell as appropriate.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of planning and delivering events
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and time management skills
  • Available to work evenings, weekend & bank holidays
  • UK Driving license due to travel to events.
  • Proficiency in MS office

Salary:
£23,000.00 per year
