An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established and supportive team as an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) due to a vacancy in our service.

You will join a fully staffed team of experienced IROs.


You will be responsible for ensuring that high quality care plans are in place for children and young people in the care of the Local Authority.

You will chair regular reviews and monitor progress to ensure that the care plan promotes the best interests of the child, that their wishes and feelings are taken into account and that plans are progressed without delay.


You will build good working relationships with the Local Authority social work teams as well as with CAFCASS and will challenge swiftly and effectively, when required, to achieve positive outcomes for children.

You will be a qualified social worker with significant experience, including management experience and you will be registered with Social Work England.


This post requires flexible working and an ability to manage and prioritise your own workload, in return you can expect to be part of a stable and supportive team, regular reflective supervision and access to training and development opportunities.

You must have a relevant social work qualification and valid Social work England registration.
