Description

The 2PA post will give the appointee time for administration associated with the clinic as well as some time towards quality improvement and CPD.

We have had a GPwSI in our clinic for the past year who has been invaluable in bringing their experience of primary care practice to our clinic.

Due to changing circumstances a vacancy will be available and we are keen to maintain and further develop this role.

A GP colleague enables us to understand the challenges of primary care physicians and can help build a bridge between primary and secondary care.

The MPN team consists of 4 consultants, a specialist nurse and a GPwSI. The MPN clinic is a busy thriving clinic, which runs on a Friday morning. Here we review and treat patients with essential thrombocythaemia, polycythaemia vera, eosinophilia and myelofibrosis.

Training will be provided:
initially by observing other colleagues, followed by supervised consultations.

Training in prescribing the cytoreductive agents will be provided with access to chemocare, our chemotherapy prescribing system, and direct supervision of prescribing initially.
