Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a secondary school in Ammanford that cater for pupils with learning difficulties as part of their specialist teaching facility (STF).


The role starting March 2023 would involve supporting secondary aged pupils with a variety of learning difficulties as the schools cater for a range of learning difficulties including; Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Moderate to Severe LearningDifficulties and Speech and Language Delay.


You will need to be the flexible individual and be prepared to work in different areas across the authority of Neath/Port talbot authority, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs including Autism, downs syndrome and pupils who display behaviouraldifficulties.

The following qualifications or knowledge of the following will be highly desirable, but not essential

  • Autism awareness training (training can be provided through TP)
  • Picture Exchange Communication (PECS)
  • Makaton or BSL (to any level)
  • Team Teach (training can be provided through TP)
  • Moving and Handling (training can be provided through TP)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
