Contract Management Officer, Children's Commissioning


Are you an experienced contract management officer with knowledge in children's health and social care and education? Are you looking for a new challenge in commissioning? The role


Working in an experienced and busy team, with a diverse portfolio of strategic commissioning and market management projects for children and families, this post will carry out contract reviews and follow up reports across children's commissioned services, establishing and maintaining effective scheme review and inspection programmes, analysing and communicating information with commissioning colleagues and operational support staff to assist in strategic planning and ensuring safe and effective service delivery.

Assisting in the development of specifications, contracts and procurement of services including provider accreditation and financial checks.

You will assist with provider/market development and implementation of best practice and new models of service delivery, developing and maintaining relationships with a range of partners to ensure planning, monitoring, review and delivery of contracted services ensures the ongoing provision of customer focused quality services.

You will have a key role in instigating review and design, contract management, quality assurance and investment, working with partners across the council and externally.


About the Service


The Commissioning, Performance and Service Development service manages design, commissioning, market shaping, performance, and quality assurance to meet the needs of vulnerable local people and families.

It works across adult social care, children's social care and education, in conjunction with operational services and corporate support services across the council.

The service works in partnership with the NHS, local voluntary and community organisations and other public bodies.


About you


You will have experience of commissioning, contract management or quality assurance and knowledge around the needs of children and families.

You have excellent and versatile communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. You will be a team player with ambition and commitment to reaching the best outcomes for local residents.

You will be able to use appropriate evidence and commissioning processes to optimise impact and make best use of resources in challenging times.


You must have experience of working in health and social care or community sector, and have the ability to collect and analyse data and information to produce written reports for internal and external dissemination.

You must have GCSE Maths or English at Grade C/Level 5 or above or equivalent

and 2 A 'Levels or equivalent or relevant experience.
