Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and forward-thinking individual to join our police team and really make a difference to the communities we serve.

You will plan and coordinate the successful delivery of Nottinghamshire Police's Race Action Plan and related Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) projects.

Communicating and engaging with our communities is exceptionally important to us and we are looking for someone who is driven to deliver activities that are aimed at improving the trust and confidence of our workforce and of our diverse communities, especially our Black communities, and address any racial disparities in the service we provide.

There is a drive to make real progress and long-lasting changes that include external scrutiny and oversight where policing is held to account.

By joining Nottinghamshire Police, you can be part of making a real difference. The role will include engaging with and influencing a range of stakeholders internally, externally and nationally. You will be part of driving change as we work towards publishing our Nottinghamshire Police Race Action Plan.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering our Force's intent into action, ensuring that Nottinghamshire Police is and remains, an actively anti-discriminatory organisation.

You will report directly to a Chief Inspector in the force's new Prevention Hub but will also take direction from the Chief Superintendent and head of the Local Policing command, who is the Gold Senior Responsible Officer for delivering the Race Action Plan in Nottinghamshire.

This is a unique role, where you will work closely with Workstream Leads to deliver change, monitor performance against the plan and engaging with and negotiating resources from other departments who will be key enablers for delivery of the plan.

You will be able to demonstrate relevant previous experience of delivering change in a challenging environment being able to understand the context of the Race Action Plan, recognise opportunities and identify risks.

In addition, you will need to be confident to work independently, assessing national strategic direction and ensuring Nottinghamshire Police are at the forefront of excellent delivery in this area.

If this sounds like you and you would like to work in a highly ambitious police force - then we would love to hear from you.
