We're looking for Highways Maintenance Operatives (HMO) to join our Transportation team based in Garstang depot to carry out a variety of highway maintenance duties as instructed on a day-to-day basis to ensure the efficient running of the Area 13 network.

Location:
Garstang Depot, Preston

Contract:
Permanent - 4 on, 4 off days & nights shift pattern, 12 hrs per day

Salary:
£ £15.00 per hour (depending on qualifications) plus shift allowances & benefits

Responsibilities
As HMO, you'll deliver routine and cyclic maintenance, winter service,

emergency response and reactive repair works across the Area 13 network.

Your day to day will include:

Install, maintain, remove temporary traffic management where required
Undertake severe weather duties eg gritting, flood clearance etc as required
Reactive repairs to damaged / defective assets
Liaise with National Highways at the scene of road traffic incidents and to work with them to clear

What are we looking for?
This role of Highways Maintenance Operative is great if you have:

Full driving licence
Capable of working under pressure within a safety critical role
Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team
