Principal Lecturer in Education (MA Education Programme Lead)
SBU/Department: Schools of Law and Education
FTE: 1.0 FTE working 37 hours per week
Duration of Contract: Permanent
Salary: UH 9 £56,021pa to £66,857pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

The successful applicant will work as part of a friendly, ambitious, and enterprising team who deliver excellent programme and continue to develop it in innovative and creative ways.- The post is of principal lecturer with the role of MA Education Programme Lead.
Main duties and responsibilities- You will work co-operatively and supportively as part of the Schools' teaching team, including off-campus student outreach and other recruitment activities such as open days where required.

You will also work closely with the Associate Deans, Head of Department, and Programme Leaders in order to continue the growth of the department and the development of the Schools' teaching and learning initiatives and ensure the currency and innovative nature of the curriculum.


Skills and experience required

  • You will have teaching experience at primary, secondary, or tertiary level in Education, experience of teaching at postgraduate level would be an advantage. You will also have experience of designing or contributing to the design of engaging and intellectually stimulating modules which have professional relevance. Ideally you would also be able to offer experience of teaching in other areas of education. Experience of undertaking and leading research (in particular quantitative) and knowledge exchange, including obtaining funding, would be highly advantageous.
    Qualifications required
  • You will hold honours degree (or equivalent) in related discipline and a master's degree in education or equivalent level professional qualification. Undertaking or having completed a doctorate would be advantageous.
