IS THIS ROLE FOR ME?

You will monitor the performance and supervise the work of a team of Yard Operatives to ensure duties are completed in a safe and timely manner.

You will drive and operate vehicles and equipment as required including a counterbalance forklift, and liase with mobile pant companies to organise repairs.

Guiding and improving employee engagement and safety culture will be a key part of this role.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

Act as the first point of contact to the public, providing professional service by giving advice, direction and assistance, ensuring that the appropriate waste is received and deposited correctly
Control the receipt and segregation for recycling of waste received, engaging with commercial customers as well as members of the public
Direct and control the loading and transfer of waste, recyclable and reusable materials to final disposal points
Carry out general site duties including housekeeping of site grounds, buildings and staff facilities, maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
Relevant experience which demonstrates the ability to effectively provide guidance, instruction, support and motivation to an operational team
Relevant experience of 360 material handler, fork lift truck and loading shovel duties
Professional, confident interpersonal skills for face to face liaison with both internal customers and external buyers
Demonstrable experience of the ability to remain effective, whilst adapting to changing tasks or priorities, to meet operational requirements
Demonstrable, competent IT skills and relevant experience which demonstrates the ability to undertake general administration duties with keen attention to detail
A good understanding of health & safety within the workplace

DESIRABLE:

Operational experience in the waste disposal industry
The ability to obtain a CIWM / WAMITAB
Environmental Permitting Operators Certificate (EPOC) or the equivalent
Driving licence valid for use in the UK
360 Material handler licence
FLT licence
FEL licence
Weighbridge operation experience
Baler experience
Class 2 licence
RoRo experience
Driver CPC
