Acorn by Synergie is pleased to be supporting Cardiff City FC Foundation to appoint 3 Trustees to their Board.

The mission and purpose of Cardiff City FC Foundation is to change lives and help tackle inequality and overcome barriers by helping people, and families across South Wales lead healthier more active lives, improving education and employment opportunities and, ultimately to reach their full potential.

Trustees play a key role in the leadership and governance of the charity with varying responsibilities dependent on expertise.

Some desirable skills/experience they currently require on their board includes, but is not limited to:

Finance
Governance
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Education and Training
Public Health
Worked within Public Body, Community and Youth Services, Local Authority, or Housing Association

Essential to have:

You must be passionate about the charity's purpose and vision.
Work with integrity, objectivity, accountability, honesty, openness, integrity and strong leadership
A fantastic communicator
A Team player

Desirable to have:

Previous experience as a Trustee
Knowledge of the type of work undertaken by the organisation
Welsh speaker

Meetings and level of Commitment:
The Board meets quarterly, in person, at the House of Sports in Cardiff, with options for hybrid meetings. Trustees join at least one of the sub-committees, most of which meet quarterly and online. There are additional meetings and Staff Away Days where the Foundation explores strategy and development. Trustees are welcome to attend other engagement events and opportunities.

Board members also take an active role in their development within the Board, attending training, as well as supporting the Board succession planning.
