Overview:


Element Digital Engineering provide specialist engineering simulation, design and data science consultancy to clients across many industries, both in the UK and internationally.

Our technical work ranges from experience-based advice and simple hand calculations to detailed simulation, numerical modelling, software development and asset management using digital twins.

Thanks to sustained growth in demand for our services, we are looking for

Data Scientists at various levels to expand the team. These positions are available across all three of our offices in Cambridge, Derby and Bristol.


Responsibilities:


Working as part of an innovative team developing a wide range of technical solutions, you will utilise your data, machine learning and AI skills to Deliver insight.

You will be client facing and need to work with a range of engineers and managers to build and deliver new digital services at scale and speed.

You will be user-centric, adopting an agile approach to continuously validate assumptions with the client.


Skills / Qualifications:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree (grade 2.1 or above), Masters or PhD or in a relevant engineering, physical science or applied mathematics discipline
  • Possess the ability to prepare/clean/aggregate and manipulate data using various tools and methodologies, extracting compelling business insights and effectively communicating these using visual representations
  • Must have experience using at least one of the following, R, SAS, Python, SQL, Hive, Matlab, Pig, Spark
  • Knowledge of various DBMS technology such as MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, SQLServer
  • Experience working in a lean / agile development environment with remote teams utilizing principles of agile development with continuous integration and deployment, test driven development, and pair programming
  • Like a challenge, are flexible thinkers and aren't intimidated by unfamiliar problems
  • Enjoy client and colleague interaction and taking responsibility
  • Want the opportunity to work within a growing and dynamic engineering team
