_Join Our Team at Chelmsford City Council__ learn about us, Our Values, Our range of Benefits and more_**This role sits at the heart of Chelmsford Theatre ensuring we have a holistic, coordinated and forward-thinking approach to our creative engagement, outreach and community activities and ensures our audiences, residents and community are central to our work.


Working closely with the Theatre Director and wider team, this role will deliver an ambitious, exciting, highly creative outreach, and engagement programmes.

It will nurture and set the pace for our creative learning programmes within our building and exteriorly, majorly to build engagement across the age ranges and raise the profile of Chelmsford Theatre, support the delivery of the Council's Cultural Strategy, and Chelmsford as a cultural destination.


This role will be a mix of strategic and creative project planning, workshop/activity leading with the important back bone of efficient administration that backs up all activities.

A key responsibility will be the development of a diverse array of programmes and events in collaboration with various partners.

This will necessitate the ability to effectively communicate and cooperate with a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Additionally, the ability to manage multiple projects and scenarios concurrently is essential.


Experience in developing and delivering performing arts-based engagement, outreach and community activities is essential with knowledge of creative engagement within a regional theatre landscape.


This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, confident, skilled and creative professional who welcomes new challenges and operates with integrity and openness.

Due to the Theatres opening times, the successful applicant will work an average of 37 hours per week.

The working week will include weekends and bank holidays in order to meet the business needs so flexibility is a must.
