Hours: 10 hours per week working: Monday pm, Tuesday pm

Main Role:
To effectively engage with young people, delivering fun opportunities designed to promote their personal, educational, and social development.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the planning, resourcing and delivery sessions on themes relating to the needs of local young people.
- Building relationships with young people and their parent/guardian to encourage continued engagement with the youth provision.
- Maintaining detailed records of the youth work delivery, including session notes and inputting data for purposes of funding and progression tracking.
- Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety and other duties of care are met, including the completion of risk assessments.
- Working with others to deliver outreach activities, including lunch clubs, afterschool clubs and detached youth provision.
- Support charitywide events and marketing/fundraising efforts when needed.
- Working flexibility and effectively as part of the team, contributing to an overall high level of service.
- Engage with all necessary training and continuous professional development (CPD) for the role.
- Ensure that the requirements of SNaP Youth's equal opportunities are met by delivering antidiscriminating practice and challenge oppression and discrimination appropriately.
- Undertake other duties as may reasonably be expected in relationship to the benefit of the SNAP Youth and grade of the post as directed by the Youth Work Project Manager.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working with young people from diverse backgrounds or with complex needs.
- Experience of delivering youth work activities both in groups and onetoone.
- Able to develop positive working relationships with staff, young people, parents, partner agencies and the local community.
- Good understanding of the importance of safeguarding and how to manage disclosures.
- Able to reflect on and improve professional youth work delivery.
- Approachable, open, and warm with young people and their families.
- Can demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills.
- Empathetic and a relatable role model for our young people.
- Selfmotivated, able to think on your feet, adapt to situations, use your own initiative, and work independently as well as with others.
- Competent with IT and social media.
- Eager and able to learn; willing to attend all required training.
- A current UK driving license and access to own vehicle.
Desirable Criteria:
- Holds a relevant qualification e.g. in youth work, education, counselling, sports.
