We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Subsidence handling individual to join our Subsidence Services Team, within our award-winning Subsidence Services Division.

You will be based at home and working as part of a dedicated team, handling complex and large losses.

Your role will include, but not exclusively, the following activities:

  • Desk top reviews and one-off reporting
  • Full 'cradle-to-grave' management of complex subsidence losses
  • Complaint reviews and dispute resolution service
  • Second opinions on technical aspects
  • Client relationship activities and promotion of service.
The role will involve the highest level of expertise in all areas; customer service, building and insurance. You will be handling domestic subsidence claims, to a value of £100k.

You will be part of a wider team of colleagues, supported by a Claims Technician & reporting to the Operations Manager.

Due the nature of the work and team size, you need to be willing to travel on occasion and be flexible in your working hours.

Whilst this is a home working role, when you do have occasion to spend time in our offices, you'll experience bright and open surroundings which offer excellent areas for collaboration as well as desk space.

You will have:

  • Appropriate chartered status e.g. MCIOB, MRICS, MICE and/or an insurance qualification Dip CILA/ CII or a willingness to working towards suitable qualifications
  • Enthusiastic, professional and positive attitude
  • A detailed knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings
  • The ability to diagnose the cause of damage to domestic and commercial buildings
  • An understanding and knowledge of repair techniques to damaged buildings and their drainage, particularly in respect of subsidence damage
  • The ability to be decisive in resolving matters, an appreciation of the importance of delivering outstanding customer service, and excellent communication and empathy skills
  • A good working knowledge of IT and most Microsoft packages
  • The ability to work in a homebased role but closely with a remote team of technical and support staff, as well as manage and plan your own workload whilst delivering professional advice to both claimants and insurers
  • Occasional travel to visit claimants & our office
  • A full UK driving license.
