Software Engineer - Hardware

Dunfermline, Fife

Key Role Responsibilities

Collaborates with others to review work outputs.
Use appropriate programming languages and scripting languages to develop realtime/embedded components.
Design test cases and creates test scripts and supporting data, working to the specifications provided.
Evaluate the outcome of testing and identify potential improvements to the process and to the software products.
Follow the use of Agile methodologies as well as software development best practices.
Contribute to the implementation of improvements and new methodologies.

Experience

Preferred:

Degree in software engineering discipline or equivalent.
Experience in designing and developing software using Object Oriented techniques.
Worked in an Agile environment.
Strong knowledge of database technology (SQL and NoSQL).
Experience of using and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

Desirable:

Experience in designing and developing User Interfaces for embedded or IoT devices.
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
Experience in MVC, Microsoft Entity Framework and Web Services.
Web development experience (JavaScript, Query, CSS).
Experience in developing embedded or IoT software using various languages (C, C++, Python, scripting, C#.NET)
