Trainee Teaching Assistant

£ £12 per hour

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Trainee Teaching Assistant in the Carmarthenshire area.

What does a Trainee Teaching Assistant do?

  • Support students with Additional Learning Needs
  • Assist in management of challenging behaviours
  • Support students learning and understanding of tasks
  • Reading out work to students


The successful applicant will be placed within small classes/intervention groups or on a 1-1 basis with children (aged 3-11) who have a range of additional learning needs such as Autism & ADHD.


Our partnership schools have outlined that the person they are looking for does not need direct experience working as a Teaching Assistant before or even with children.

Applicants with a background in care or support work, sports coaches who have workedwith children previously are examples of some careers that carry many transferable skills over to this role and highly desirable.

This a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to make a step into an educational career for the first time.

What is required to be a Trainee Teaching Assistant?

  • No formal educational qualifications are required
  • 5 GCSEs minimum desired
  • Enhanced DBS available on the update service
