We are currently recruiting for a Clerk of Works (Capital Projects) to join a multi site large NHS trust in South London for an initial 6 month contract - this is likely to be extended

Essential skills and experience required:

To assist Capital Project Managers in managing, monitoring and coordinating all activity required for the successful delivery of Estates Capital projects

To work to statutory obligations, Building Regulations, Health & Safety Guidance, Construction Design and Management Regulations, and other policy and procedural documents as issued by the Department of Health and the Trust

Carry out surveys of sites, buildings and services, using surveying/measuring equipment, and detailed programmed inspections, condition surveys etc

Post holder must have extensive knowledge of HBN (Health Building Notes) & Building Regulation legislation, maintaining a full understanding of the evolving legislation, to ensure safe and efficient implementation of the Project Health and safety, safe systems of work, risk management and legislation appertaining to construction

A degree in a relevant discipline such as construction management or building surveying. Professional membership of appropriate body e.g. Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI), CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building)
