    Description

    Location:
Hyndburn Fire Station, Hyndburn Road, Church, BB5 4EQ

    Salary:
    Scale 4, Spinal Column Points 9-13, £27,254 - £29,064

Working Arrangements: 36.25 hours per week (flexi-time working arrangements)

Closing Date: 12 noon, Friday 03 October 2025

An opportunity has arisen for a Programme Support Worker to join an inclusive and value driven public sector organisation with an outstanding organisational culture.

We offer free car parking, a generous pension and generous annual leave.

This is a challenging but immensely rewarding role, delivering the King's Trust Team Programme to young people in the 16-25 age group in Lancashire.

The King's Trust Team Programme is a personal development programme that enables young people to develop their confidence, motivation and skills through teamwork in the community.

It brings together people of different abilities, circumstances and backgrounds - both employed and unemployed.

As a King's Trust Programme Support Worker supporting the Team Leader, you will hold or be willing to work towards an appropriate teaching qualification; you will have excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

You will be able to work outside normal office hours and hold a current driving licence.

You will demonstrate a commitment to equality and embrace diversity and inclusivity.

The ability to empathise with young people, working with them - often resolving conflict - and supporting their development will come as second nature to you, and you will have the skills to liaise effectively with the various agencies and professionals who deal with the young people on a daily basis.

Additionally, you will have an understanding of the principles of health and safety and risk assessment.

Please note this role is subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance with barred list checks.

Closing date for applications is 12 noon on 03 October 2025. However, we reserve the right to close the advert prior to this if sufficient quality applications have been received.

We anticipate interviews to take place on Tuesday 14 October 2025.

Diversity Matters at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service - we want to attract the broadest range of people to work with us and the more diverse the workforce, the better able we are to serve our community.

We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from all individuals regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexuality, social background, religion and/or belief or age.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Employer.

This post has been advertised internally and externally.
