We are pleased to have a fantastic opportunity available for a Merchandiser (Junior Level) to join our successful Merchandising team at DCK in our Billericay office
.

This is a full-time position offering hybrid working between the office (Billericay, Essex) and home.

This role would be suitable for experienced Junior Merchandisers looking for a supported move into a Merchandiser Designate level role.

You will

  • Prepare agenda and lead Monday Team Trade meetings. Review Trade of the department at granular level, devising a plan of action to present back to the team always relate back to Profit opportunities and risks.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to trading using initiative to drive analysis without prompting. Repeats / rephasing and cancellations are recommended to the Merchandise Manager when required.
  • Drive Trade to optimise profit inseason, highlighting risks and opportunities with focus on actions to maximise profitability and mitigate risk. Communicate effectively with the Merchandise Manager so they are well informed of any follow up to Trade discussions on a weekly basis.
  • Relate everything back to overall profitability of the business and drives forward trading opportunities. Manage the team to gain maximum analysis and data insight in order to drive Trade.
  • Maintain the WSSI at all times with high accuracy, completing in line with deadlines. Identify and communicate risks and opportunities with clear action plans supporting profitability targets. Build accurate forecasts on sound logic, analysis and market insight, in line with current trading conditions and ensure stock levels variance requirements are maintained and initiatives are presented to the business with supporting data.
  • Adapt trading events in response to market changes/trade performance
  • Actively visit competition and host channels, suggesting new ideas to improve brand performance
  • Set allocation plans based on buy, current trading and distribution meetings, agreeing comparable lines
  • Review and agree recodes
  • Model and summarise Markdowns reviewing profit at all times with clear recommendations. Present and communicate information to the wider business /team with data to support decision making. Load systems in timely manner with full accuracy.
  • Summarise lessons learnt, risks & opportunities to the Senior team, offering clear actions based on findings
  • Share exit agenda, including mark down strategy and reclass
  • Supply commentary and present key findings in Profit Review, providing next steps and actions
  • In collaboration with hosts, discuss performance, next steps and further opportunities
  • Manage Critical path timelines and key milestone deadlines to ensure they are achieved. Manage workload in line with the priorities of your brand and ensure there is regular and effective communication with the Merchandise Manager.
  • Manage the team, ensuring clear priorities and consistent ways of working
  • Explore all opportunities to drive the success of the team using data and analytics tools
  • Encourage a culture of transparency, accessibility, regularity, and clear direction.
  • Coach and guide team members, continually providing clear and transparent feedback in terms of their performance
  • Always lead by example. Exert and display behaviours aligned to DCK's DNA values.
  • Conduct regular 121's with direct reports
  • Help the team see the 'bigger picture'
  • Develop the team to succeed in their roles and prepare for future roles
