Digital Content Specialist

Pendragon Head Office

£26,000 - £30,000 basic salary with pension, critical illness pay, life assurance, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, exclusive company discounts on used car purchases, leasing deals and aftersales services

Role Purpose


Take on and lead designated content projects across our group websites with autonomy, including the content design, production and execution across our CMS platform, implementing SEO best practice throughout the process.

You'll also be involved in the production and execution of the group's video strategy


In your role you
Will be a highly skilled member of the Content Team, consistently performing at the top of your game from content writing, SEO and content management perspectives


Key Responsibilities of the Digital Content Specialist:

  • Entrusted to lead web content projects from start to finish, reporting on progress and results using analytics platforms
  • Working with the Video Producer to implement the group's video strategy, ranging from video logistics and script writing through to upload and monitoring performance
  • Mentoring junior members of the team, helping to embed our principles and ways of working into their daily routine
  • Content writing across a variety of volume and premium brands including product and service information pages, as well as soft content such as blogs and company news
  • Web page production our websites need to look better than ever and you'll be responsible for that
  • Editing our websites, maintaining the highest standards of content management best practice
  • Working with internal and external PR teams on digital PR campaigns, earning backlinks and online media coverage
  • Generating suitable content ideas, and bringing your ideas to life across our websites

What do you need to succeed in the role of Digital Content Specialist:

  • 3 years' web content writing experience (or relevant degree)
  • 2 years' content management experience
  • A clear understanding of all the functions, process and components within our CMS, including how to use them and when to use them
  • Working knowledge of SEO and analytics tools such as Ahrefs and Google Analytics
  • Video logistics: you'll have a good idea of the video production process and the different stages involved
  • Technical writing skills: a consistently high standard of spelling and grammar throughout every content item you produce
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across: building relationships across the department will help you contribute to the success of our team
