Aaban Partnership Ltd is a new and exciting service offering high-quality specialist mental health services for young people with complex needs.

Aaban Partnership Ltd has two CQC regulated purpose-built 10 bedded units offering assessment, stabilisation, treatment, and intervention for young people aged years.


Providence unit (assessment and stabilisation unit) is now fully operational, we have also recently opened Moira unit our (treatment and intervention unit) and require passionate, committed, hard-working staff to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You'll lead a comprehensive programme of interventions designed to reduce the use of restrictive practices to an absolute minimum.

In addition to delivering our Positive and Safe training, you will also be responsible for development, implementation and monitoring of our Reducing Restrictive Practice plan.

You will be responsible for all aspects of security - physical, relational and procedural - and will investigate serious incidents, ensuring relevant lessons are learnt.

You'll work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, and will report the outcomes of your work to relevant governance committees on a regular basis.


Job role to include the following:

  • Deliver Positive and Safe training to all staff at Aaban, including an emphasis on primary and secondary preventative strategies in addition to physical intervention techniques.
  • Develop, implement and monitor Aaban's Reducing Restrictive Practice plan.
  • Develop, implement and monitor effective systems to ensure the delivery of appropriate physical, relational and procedural security.
  • Assume lead responsibility for delivery of high standards of the physical environment, including relevant health and safety issues.
  • Exercise lead responsibility for the identification, assessment and mitigation of risks relevant to the use of physical intervention.
  • Ensure the risk register is actively maintained in accordance with the risk management policy and procedure.
  • Undertake investigation of serious incidents, ensuring relevant lessons are learnt, disseminated and acted upon.
  • Seek accreditation of Aaban with Bild ACT, and maintain 'authorised trainer' status at all times.
  • Develop a robust succession plan, ensuring Aaban maintains sufficient capacity to deliver PAS training going forward.
  • Coordinate development and implementation of PBS plans, as required, for Young People at risk of being restrained.
  • Ensure full implementation of relevant restraint reduction tools such as SafeWards, the six core strategies (Restrain Yourself), and effective debriefing.
  • Undertake option appraisals, as required, and project manage implementation of preferred options to address any risks highlighted relevant to the scope of the role.
  • Undertake the role of registered nurse, as required, to cover for shortfalls in the workforce.
  • Monitor the impact of all aspects of the role, and report to governance committees as required, under the auspices of the Assurance Framework.
  • Contribute to development of a holistic, recoveryfocused, and personcentred culture, with an emphasis at all times on reducing restrictive interventions.
  • Offer guidance to the staff team and exercise leadership in relation to Young People at risk of being restrained.
  • Provide technical advice and consultation on all matters relating to the prevention and management of violence and aggression.
  • Facilitate group supervision and postincident debriefing as required.
  • Proactively seek input from Young People and their families, working towards the ideal of 'coproduction' at every opportunity.
  • Meet all continuing professional development and mandatory training requirements.


All staff members employed by Aaban Partnership Ltd are expected to be familiar with and aware of their responsibilities in relation to local children's safeguarding board, local adult safeguarding board and procedures for safeguarding and protecting children and vulnerable adults.


£1000 welcome bonus, payable on satisfactory DBS and references. This bonus is repayable if the probation period is not completed or staff member leaves within 12 months.

Salary:
Up to £45,500 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Full-time hours: 37.5 per week, primarily during office hours. The post-holder will, however, be expected to work flexibly across day and night shifts as required.
