Our client, a highly respected Higher Education establishment based in Glasgow, require a Recruitment and Events Administrative Assistant on a temporary basis for 12 weeks with a possible extension.

The salary for the position is £11.65 per hour.

Hoursof work are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm - 35 hours per week but some out of hours work may be required.


Main purpose of role:


To provide effective and efficient support to the work of the Student Recruitment and Marketing Team in delivering high quality information and advice to prospective applicants and stakeholders.

Help undertake extensive outreach activity, visiting schools,colleges and agents and attending recruitment fairs.


Accountabilities/Responsibilities:


  • Act as an initial point of contact for staff in relation to the services and activity of the Marketing and Recruitment team's recruitment activity
  • Support the delivery of student engagement and recruitment activities by offering advice and guidance to prospective students through attendance and participation in UK, European and overseas recruitment event
  • Support the coordination of school and event bookings by liaising with event organisers and diarising appointments for university staff
  • Contact new schools and colleges to offer visits, talks and activities. Keep accurate records of visits which have taken place, in order to be able to monitor and evaluate impact
  • Support the Marketing and Recruitment team in the collection and maintenance of recruitment data and in the provision of reports and analysis
  • Maintain the marketing and recruitment team mailboxes and activity calendars
  • Update and maintain the marketing and recruitment team's specific university webpages and recruitment focused social media channels
  • Ensure that all work carried out within area of responsibility meets the requirements and needs of the University's Information Security policies and practices and are undertaken in line with the University's Values & Behaviours and department's commitments
  • Contribute and support open days and other cross University recruitment and conversion events

Key Skills and Requirements:


  • HNC level or equivalent relevant experience
  • Articulate, with attention to detail and strong numeracy skills
  • Excellent administrative, organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to plan and manage own workload within deadlines, service level agreements and KPIs
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative to deliver successful results
  • Awareness of current issues within higher education
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates a customer focused service
  • Confident public speaker with experience of delivering presentations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly word and excel and basic report writing skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
  • Must have a full, clean UK driving licence
