Description
Insight Executive Group are looking to recruit a Mechanical Technical Officer. The role is working for the estates team for a Central Government department and is a full-time permanent position with a starting salary of up to £43k


The Mechanical Technical Officer will primarily manage areas of electrical compliance such as Electrical Test & Inspection and PAT testing programmes and other planned maintenance and associated repairs to the Estates Building Services Systems infrastructure,including arranging any annual statutory surveyor inspections and arranging any subsequent repairs.

The Mechanical Technical Officer will directly manage and monitor service delivery across a range of disciplines.

The following range of building service areas are presently managed by the CMO team:


  • Electrical test & inspection and PAT testing programmes
  • Pressure Systems and associated equipment (Including steam)
  • Boiler feedwater pretreatment plant
The successful Mechanical Technical Officer will be able to demonstrate:

  • Thorough knowledge of the IET wiring regulations BS767118th Edition & the Electricity at Work Regulations
  • City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Recent relevant experience of managing Electrical Building Service functions

And ideally:

  • NEBOSH Level 3 General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience of electrical testing within commercial buildings
