Background
The Marketing Officer post provides dedicated marketing support to the Undergraduate Student Recruitment and Marketing team.

This position works under the guidance of the Undergraduate Marketing Manager, working closely with colleagues in the wider Student Recruitment and Marketing team and with colleagues from across External Relations and the wider University.


This is a hybrid role with some time spent working from home where this fits with the needs of the business and the individual.

The University sees the benefit of colleagues interacting in an agile office environment and this is an important part of working in a large, complex organisation.


Role Summary


Working under the direction of the Undergraduate Marketing Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of marketing and student recruitment activity.

This is an exciting role in a busy, innovative and fast-paced team.

Working across the whole spectrum of the marketing mix including both digital and offline marketing communications, the post holder will work across multiple undergraduate and international marketing campaigns.

In addition to creating highly tailored and segmented marketing content and having a high level of competency in use of technology, such as CRM and CMS systems, they will bring together detailed market insight with marketing expertise to deliver a range of targeted, measurable marketing campaigns.

This post will support and manage marketing activities and projects throughout the year.

They should be a creative thinker with excellent attention to detail, and a quick learner who is happy to work independently and thrives on the opportunity to produce innovative solutions to the problems facing the recruitment marketing team, such as attracting enquirers.


The post holder will work on dynamic campaigns, and tasks will include writing and sourcing content, producing communications plans, and developing digital advertising plans for a variety of recruitment activities.

They will act as the primary web editor for the Undergraduate Student Recruitment and Marketing team and will be responsible for looking after a range of webpages, updating them as necessary with revised copy and content, and producing campaign pages on the website for a variety of activities as specified by the Marketing Manager.

The post holder should have a good level of experience of using CRM systems and developing communications plans.
