- The supervision and support of students throughout the college day, both in sessions, unstructured time and any other setting as required; which may include the residential homes and other trust sites as required
- To encourage students to attend planned session and to help them become engaged in the curriculum activities;
- Completion of relevant paperwork as required;
- To support College safeguarding procedures by reporting quickly and effectively any disclosures to the College Safeguarding Team.
- Knowledge of specialist education;
- Experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and / or learning disabilities and challenging behaviour;
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A flexible and professional approach to work is required.
- A comprehensive induction, an excellent personal development plan and extensive training to include Autism, Attachment, Emotional Resilience, Holistic Support, Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE), Physical Intervention Training.

The Glasshouse College provides innovative and experiential education and training for young people marginalised by disadvantage, exclusion or special learning needs. Inspired by Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin, the college actively promotes the industrial heritage of the Black Country, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship in traditional and contemporary industry and crafts.
For over 35 years, Ruskin Mill Trust has delivered an innovative Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) curriculum method to children and adults with complex needs, including autistic spectrum conditions and other learning differences and disabilities. Inspired by Aonghus Gordon using the insights of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris, the PSTE method centres around heritage craft and land activities, working with hand, head, heart and place to provide students with the tools to transform material and in doing so transform themselves.
Day Time Support Worker
40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year ( Term Time Only )
FTE £23,886 per annum
(Pro rata, term time only actual salary £19,493
Starting salary will be dependent on age and qualifications
