The Head of Operational Support - NZ Communities is a pivotal role in the delivery of our improvement programme enabling us in our ambitious plans to scale.

You will develop, and quality assure the frameworks required to support the operation to deliver efficiently at a high level of quality.

This includes Operational MI, business control frameworks and robust enabling technology.

The role holder will take ownership for the relationship management of third-party billing and payment software providers which may include overseeing the transition to new providers.


You will oversee the mobilisation of new sites and ensure that opportunities to leverage synergies across products and sectors e.g., optimising fair use tools in the Build to Rent Sector.

You will keep abreast of developments in technology and sector 'best practice' proactively presenting opportunities for efficiency or improved customer experience.


The role holder will work closely with the Operations Director and the wider Community Leadership team to identify opportunities for improvement by reviewing MI, root cause analysis and analysis of risks identified through the business controls framework.

You will support the shaping of a quarterly improvement initiative roadmap and own the project delivery.

You will manage any projects throughout the lifecycle from scoping, benefits case development through to planning and delivery.

You will act as a mentor to the Head of Mobilisation and Engagement ensuring that a project approach is taken to on and offboarding plans.

You will work closely with the Digital Enablement team representing Community and ensuring business requirements remain at the heart of any tech led initiatives.

You will work closely with the Operational Leads to ensure business readiness for change. As a senior leader and representative of the brand the role holder will model company values and behaviours.


What will you be doing?:


  • Development and baselining of Quarterly Roadmap plans, analysing budgets and tracking projections throughout delivery
  • Root cause analysis identifying opportunities to reduce waste, utilising methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Ownership of relationship with Third Party Suppliers providing billing and payments software
  • Scoping, planning, and executing plans on budget and to quality
  • Developing an Operational KPI dashboard enabling business insight and decision making
  • Lead, coach, manage, motivate, and empower the teams to deliver business benefits whilst continually driving year on year productivity improvements and efficiencies
  • Develop and continuously evolve tools and templates for planning, tracking, and reporting progress clearly and concisely
  • Project Manage the key transformation projects across functions influencing new ways of working across the company

  • Forward thinking and flexible
  • Third party supplier management experience
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to all levels of an organisation both business and technical audiences including exec level
  • A strong ability to build rapport with stakeholders and internal teams quickly
  • Analytical modelling, business process reengineering and forecasting to assess opportunities for change
  • Advocate with external organisations
  • Experience of managing large and complex projects supported by a project/programme management qualification (PRINCE2, MSP, APM PMQ)
  • Ability to utilise own initiative, under pressure, to tight timescales
  • Team leadership, experienced in coaching, mentoring and managing performance
