Description
This role is responsible for supporting timely and accurate Financial Accounting.

It is responsible for the production and review of monthly financial information, timely statutory returns to external bodies and supporting the statutory audit process.

Description
Support the year-end process including involvement in the preparation of the statutory accounts and external audit process.
Provision of effective VAT / tax advice including assisting with the preparation of quarterly returns.
Assisting with the production of monthly financial information (Balance Sheet/ Cash flow/ debtors' analysis) for Management Reports
Support the monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation. Investigate any inaccuracies, including intercompany accounts, ensuring that control accounts are zero, suspense accounts are cleared, and that accounts are reconciled to third-party data

Effective provision of support/ guidance to wider Finance team based on a good knowledge of accounting standards and the Charities SORP.

Ensuring that all financial information is produced in line with the agreed timetables and procedures

Supporting the Financial Accountants in the interface with the HR Services and Payroll Teams to ensure a robust monthly payroll process.

Assisting with the preparation of regulatory returns on a timely basis


Profile

  • Accountant
  • Part qualified or QBE
  • Having sound technical accounting knowledge is essential
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices, including the Charities SORP and UK GAAP
  • To ensure compliance with recommended accounting practices.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel
  • We will utilise these skills to provide useful data insights and enhance MI reporting
  • Be an adaptable, flexible, team player and selfmotivated
  • Experience dealing with external auditors, producing statutory accounts, VAT, Gift Aid, Corporation tax, ONS and other regulatory returns
  • You'll need to work and communicate with external auditors and effectively plan, allocate and execute various tasksin the finance calendar.
  • Experience of working with external auditors
  • You will be able to liaise and communicate effectively with external auditors Experience of implementing financial controls
