Hybrid Role - Mon - Fri 8.00am - 5.00pm

(3 days in the office / 2 days at home - after training)

The Role:

Our client is looking for an Electrical / Controls Design Engineer to join their friendly team.

This role offers the opportunity to travel the world, working towards becoming the lead electrical designer for the Coding & Tracking division.

The chance towork with the latest technology across PLCs, vision systems, HMIs, networking, databases, and systems safety.

A challenging yet rewarding blend of projects across automation and data handling.

The Engineer will be responsible for the timely production of quality electrical designs and accurate BOMs to drive purchasing.

Design & Development of the following:
Control panel circuit diagrams, including familiarity with equipment layouts and componenttypes.

Machine field wiring diagrams.
Pre and Post Machine interfaces, including PLC signals.
Pneumatic Circuits
Equipment parts lists for the above installations
PLC type and selection, communication protocols (Fieldbus Ethernet etc.)
Review inhouse and customer specifications and selection of appropriate vendor items.
Deliver documentation and drawings in a concise and timely manner consistent with the project requirements.
Ensure that safety is a priority through safe practices and observing all safety guidelines, rules, and policies.

Skills Required:

HNC Electrical Qualification
3 years in industrial automation
Electrical CAD packages
Eye for detail.
Excellent selfmanagement and relationship management
Eligible to work in the UK.

Desired:

BEng/BSc Electrical Engineering
Solid Works Electrical experience
Ambitious with a growth mindset
Valid Passport for travel
Full driving license

Key Responsibilities:

Consult & Lead
Provide the commercial team with design guidance, specification suggestions and electrical solutions.
Customer site surveys for large Coding & Tracking Projects.
Lead the inhouse design and ensure specific design requirements and standards are met by the electricians and assembly team.
Design & Development
Responsible for the timely production of control panel circuit diagrams, machine field wiring diagrams, and pre

- and post-machine interfaces, including PLC signals and pneumatic circuits.

Specify equipment parts lists for new and modified designs.
PLC type and selection, communication protocols (Fieldbus Ethernet etc.)
Review inhouse and customer specifications and selection of appropriate vendor items.
Ensure that safety is a priority through safe practices and observing all safety guidelines, rules, and policies.
Implementation
Crossfunctional teamwork with mechanical design engineers, software engineers, commercial leads, and project managers to ensure consistent designs that are on time and comply with the agreed customer specification.
Collaborate with and support electricians to ensure the systems comply with the design requirements.
Ensure revision control and version management are maintained.
Drive forward change to reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve product quality to grow customer satisfaction.
Customerfocused and ready to provide support with electrical issues and support requests through our SLA agreements.
Drive forward system adoption, change and improvement across the design platforms such as Solid Works Electrical and Product Data Management.
Familiarity with ERP adoption and implementation within the electrical department is a huge benefit
