Responsible to:
Finance Manager

Main purpose:

To assist the Finance Manager and Assistant Accountant in the processing of orders, invoices and other payments and receipts in order to ensure the effective and efficient financial management of the academies.

Key responsibilities

  • To work as part of a team to provide an efficient financial service and support
  • To deal with enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • To prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines
  • To maintain accurate records and track progress of work
  • To undertake financial / administrative duties including:
  • Preparing correspondence
  • Print monthly budget reports
  • Dealing with hospitality and arrangements for attending conferences
  • Raise orders, check and process invoices and ordering & monitoring stocks supplies etc
  • Process debit card transactions
  • To check and approve the monthly payroll documentation and maintenance of staff records
  • To input and retrieve data using computerised systems
  • To collate and prepare information from a variety of sources
  • To communicate effectively with internal & external stakeholders and colleagues in relation to work undertaken
  • To work with others to help improve work organisation and effectiveness
  • To ensure promotion and support of Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety
  • To undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the post

What you'll be able to offer:

Able to input/ retrieve information from databases
Able to process documentation using Word / Excel
Able to accurately enter/retrieve data information from information systems
Able to work flexibly as part of a team & show initiative
Able to prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines
Able to demonstrate good numeracy & literacy skills
Able to use SIMS and PS Financials (desirable)
Knowledge of general office / finance procedures and practice
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations to carry out financial transactions
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (desirable)
Knowledge/qualifications demonstrating ability in numeracy and literacy (desirable)
