Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Haematologist with an interest in multiple myeloma based at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, available for a period of 12 months.
At University Hospital of Wales, you will be joining a supportive specialist multiple myeloma team which comprises one full-time Consultant Haematologist, one Consultant who provides a day per week of support, and two Clinical Nurse Specialists.
The multiple myeloma team strives to give the best possible standard of care for our patients and this has recently been rewarded with the presentation of a Clinical Service Excellence Award from Myeloma UK - the leading patient advocacy charity.
The multiple myeloma service provides comprehensive access to diagnostic, staging and treatment pathways for multiple myeloma and plasma cell disorders.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.
Applicants should preferably either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within three months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
Applicants must ensure they provide the names and contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of their employment/training history in full.
In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
