Pathfinder Project

West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) is partnering with the NHS on a two-year project to provide a range of support services for adult survivors of sexual violence with trauma related mental health needs.

If you are an experienced advocate, trainer or counsellor who has experience of working in the sexual violence sector or an aligned field and you have a knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its impact this maybe the opportunity you have been looking for

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that brings together a range of knowledge and skills to support adult survivors of sexual violence with trauma related mental health needs.

This is a chance to help both shape and deliver a brand-new pathway of support alongside mental health service colleagues.

Opportunities are for two-year secondments and start on 01 November 2023

Summary of Position:

Working in collaboration with the NHS and AXIS on a two year project to provide a range of support services for adult survivors of sexual violence across West Mercia.

This new role will be required to develop and facilitate peer group support, co-facilitate psychosocial education groups and hold a small case load of 1:1-time limited counselling clients with trauma-related mental health needs as a result of sexual violence

Primary Responsibilities:

Establish a cocreation process with survivors to enable development of appropriate approach for peer support.
To develop and lead delivery of peer support survivor groups in collaboration with the pathfinder group facilitator and colleagues from across WMRSASC.
To support the delivery of a programme of psychosocial education groups for survivors of sexual violence.
Collaborate with a range of multiagency partners to ensure the most appropriate pathway of support for the individual survivor.
Advocate on behalf of survivors of sexual violence to ensure they can have access to a range of services based on need.
Ensure all risk and safeguarding processes and procedures are followed.
To promote awareness of group offering with a range of multiagency partners

- o develop and use appropriate referral, assessment and risk management procedures.

To undertake evaluation and outcome meetings and data reporting to ensure continuous development of group offering and 1:1 work.
To manage booking process for group work
To provide time limited counselling to clients referred through the pathfinder project for counselling support.
Ensure ongoing professional practice through CPD, use of supervision and maintaining necessary insurances and professional body memberships.
Represent and promote WMRSASC in meetings and events.
