Description

Our client is seeking a Personal Advisor within the Virtual School 16+ Team to ensure that the needs of individual young people who are looked after or leaving care are met.


You will join a team of specialist, highly experienced practitioners, whose focus on engaging and supporting Looked After Children (CLA) into and through education, employment and training.

The role is on a hybrid basis and there is scope to work from home. There is also a need to travel to colleges in the area to meet with young people.


Responsibilities:


  • Engage effectively with and provide support for a caseload of 16+ looked after young people and care leavers, overcoming barriers to personal development, learning and work, particularly during periods of transition
  • To meet with looked after young people and care leavers regularly including through the Personal Education Plan termly review
  • Work to agreed targets including NEET prevention and reduction; monitoring the progress of looked after young people and care leavers on your caseload through regular review
  • Record data on relevant management information systems to appropriate timescales and standards, producing reports including at least 'good' PEPs and correspondence as required
  • Engage effectively in multiagency working to develop collaborative relationships with relevant staff in a range of agencies
  • Deliver high quality Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance to assist looked after young people and care leavers in making successful transitions
  • Work with looked after young people and care leavers' family members, carers and key workers, to enable them to contribute to effectively target support towards full engagement with EET
  • Participate in the development of the Virtual School by contributing to working groups, reviewing and revising policies and procedures, attending staff meetings and conferences
  • Actively participate in the Performance Management and Development process to meet agreed quality standards
