Purpose of the Role:


The role of the Senior Purchase Ledger is to assist the purchase ledger manager in delivering a strong service to the overall financial control team.

We do this by ensuring key accounts are reconciled, the inbox is monitored and any supplier queries are dealt with promptly.

This will also involve strong communication skills with the rest of the business.


As part of our continuous improvement, the role will be an important part in identifying and driving transformation within the finance function, in order to streamline and maximise resources.


Principal Accountabilities:


  • Responding to escalated queries, and liaising with purchasing team on price and quantity variances,
  • Keeping track of credits owed to the company
  • Processing substantial invoice volumes every month
  • Ensure correct allocation of costs across departments monthly for bulk invoices,
  • Sense check the coding,
  • Prepay the invoices as required, backing out the original journal and posting the prepaid amount.

Developing systems and controls within the department

  • Help verse endtoend purchase ledger processes
  • Key part of the development of new systems and processes needed within the department,
  • To contribute to finance team meetings and support the work of other team members as necessary,
  • Oversee company's risk assessment policies for AP processes, Ensure recharges are coded correctly within the department,
