These growth plans include implementing a real time end-to-end Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, a multi-million-pound investment, and part of our long-term digital transformation initiative.

Focused on advancing our technology and integrating web-based navigation, this EHR will allow HCA UK clinicians and colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality and care and to maintain our outstanding ratings and continue to be a global market leader in complex care.

Therefore, we are investing in a new workforce to lead this change, and we are actively recruiting now for a 2023 start, focused on change management, transforming work practices, and project delivery of goals and objectives.


In summary


This a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader, you will be part of a senior leadership team which will embark on a division-wide transformational programme led by the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Programme Director.

This programme includes multiple workstreams across the business.

As the lead of your assigned responsibility specialist area, you will take ownership of all aspects of the strategy, project control, change management and benefits analysis and ensure the platform delivers value to the organization in the short and long term.

This includes end-user engagement, communications, education, go-live support, post-live support, optimization and transition.


Specific deliverables and top priorities for this role are:

  • Responsible for the Programme Management Office for the EHR programme providing programme reporting to support the Steering group
  • Progress against KPI's for the workstreams
  • Tracking of project financials against budget
  • Programme risks and issues management
  • Tracking of change requests and managing the change control process
  • Highlighting impacts of delays on dependencies with other workstreams
  • Resource tracking
  • Providing assurance for project governance within each of the workstreams.
  • Management of the Business Analysts
  • Ensuring the business requirements are clearly defined, defining the tobe processes, through discovery build, implementation, and testing, ensuring the solution meets the business needs, and the business processes are aligned
  • Supporting the analysts within the separate workstreams as a virtual team to ensure best practice
  • Line management of the workstream project managers
  • Ensuring project governance and approach is consistent and adhered to
  • Facilitating collaboration between the workstreams
  • Providing project assurance Line
  • Management of temporary HR resources
- on-going HR support / management of project resources.

  • Progressive leadership experience and understanding of the healthcare industry
  • Previous ownership experience leading a large scale project team, with multiple resources and stakeholders to deliver a change programme.
  • Previous experience in driving the development of technology solutions and managing the people change management to adopt the change, impacting culture and driving efficiencies to benefit the organisation, (ideally, implementation of an EHR but not essential).
  • Experienced PMO lead for transformational projects
  • Excellent organisational and people management skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to challenge effectively when necessary
  • Experience of introducing programme / project governance best practice to an organisation
  • Project/Programme management experience
  • Knowledge of Business Analyst best practice
  • A proactive approach and the ability to enable and inspire collaboration
