An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and caring individual to join our team within Belford Hospital day case unit and pre-assessment clinic.
A flexible approach and considerate manner are essential along with good team working and communication skills. This post involves both administration and direct patient care duties. A good standard of computer skills and a considerate telephone manner are essential, a working knowledge of NHS computer systems would be advantageous. An ability to work on own initiative and problem solving is essential.
You will be required to undertake pre-operative, ECG, blood pressures, phlebotomy, spirometry and swabbing. In the day case unit pre-op preparation & post op care till discharge for patients attending for elective surgery and endoscopy procedures.
Shifts are Monday – Friday / 9-5 and some shorter shifts if required to meet the needs of the service.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
